Ryerson University’s Chang School of Continuing Education offers arts and entertainment administration courses to help you enhance your marketing, management, audience engagement, sponsorship, and social media promotion to support your creative work.

AUDIENCE OUTREACH COURSE: STARTS NOVEMBER 4

This November, we are offering Audience Outreach and Engagement (course enrolment page: CDAM 102), a course designed to help you expand and enrich your audience’s experience – a vital component of the ongoing success of all artistic endeavours, from performing arts groups to visual artists. Develop skills that address the interchange between product and the audience, through marketing, special events, and corporate sponsorship. Students will build a case study based on a real or imagined project of their own.

Your Instructor: Lorraine Patterson

Learn directly from Lorraine Patterson, who has enjoyed an over 25-year career in marketing and sponsorship with a focus on the arts and entertainment fields. She has led creative and account service teams for clients such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre, the Canadian Opera Company, and several New York theatre productions. Lorraine is currently the Associate Director, Sponsorship for the Stratford Festival.

Scheduling: Mondays, 6:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m., November 4–December 16, 2019

Cost: $365.57

Duration: 19.5 hours

This course can be taken as a standalone course or as part of The Chang School’s Course Series in Arts and Entertainment Administration. Suitable for arts managers, potential arts managers, and individual artists, this four-course program has been designed to equip you with entrepreneurial skills to support your creative ideas. Learn from seasoned professionals who work in the cultural industry and develop the confidence to build your business. Past students have successfully applied their learning into projects and employment.
