Bonavista Biennale 2019 opens August 17th on the Bonavista Peninsula, NL
Biennale 2019 — FLOE, a month-long contemporary visual art festival, opens on Saturday, August 17th on the Bonavista Peninsula in Newfoundland. Twenty-one artists from Newfoundland and Labrador, other parts of Canada and the U.S. will be showing at 22 indoor and outdoor sites, including heritage houses, historic community buildings and churches, root cellars, a beach and more. Biennale visitors explore art, local cultural, history and the landscape on a spectacular 100-kilometre coastal loop.
The exhibition, artist talks, workshops and other events run through September 15th.

Campos-Pons, Ian Carr-Harris + Yvonne Lammerich, Kym Greeley, Robert Hengeveld, Anna Hepler, Jason Holley, Thaddeus Holownia, Barb Hunt + Jane Walker, Mark Igloliorte, Wanda Koop, Meagan Musseau, Sean Patrick O’Brien, Paulette Phillips, Meghan Price, Jerry Ropson, Camille Turner and D’Arcy Wilson.
Curators: Catherine Beaudette (2 Rooms Contemporary Art Projects), David Diviney (Art Gallery of Nova Scotia), and Matthew Hills (Grenfell Art Gallery, Memorial University of Newfoundland).
