Sur Gallery Mentorship Program
Call for Submissions
Sur Gallery invites submissions from emerging artist and curators of Latin American descent who would like to participate in Sur Gallery’s Mentorship Program. We encourage post-secondary students and recent graduates to send their submissions for the chance to be part of our program, where 6-8 mentees will be selected to receive professional development instruction and skills to further expand their knowledge of how the industry operates. The program includes lectures and workshops with invited guests at the gallery’s space, as well as field trips to other galleries, artist-run centres and art institutions within the GTA.
Participants will focus on the development of practice, ideas and implementation of a final exhibition, managed and curated by the mentees, that will be held at the end of the mentorship program for two weeks in March 2020, at Sur Gallery.
Program Duration: October 2019 to March 2020
Time commitment: Bi-weekly meetings of 4 hours a day
Each participant will receive a $150 honorary payment
