Learn Arts and Entertainment Social Media Marketing Skills at Ryerson University


Develop a strong arts and entertainment social media marketing strategy.

Ryerson University’s Chang School of Continuing Education offers arts and entertainment administration courses to help you enhance your marketing, management, audience engagement, sponsorship, and social media promotion to support your creative work.


This March, we are offering Social Media Marketing for Arts and Entertainment (course enrolment page: CDAM 104). Designed for organizations and artists of all disciplines, this course examines strategies and techniques of media and digital technology for marketing and promotion. Theory and practice are demystified to understand the why and the how. Students will develop their own case study – real or imagined – as a way to develop their skills.


Your Instructor: Victoria Barber

Learn directly from Victoria Barber, an experienced arts marketer and producer with a demonstrated history of working on large-scale commercial productions, new Canadian content, and site-specific theatre. She is skilled in content creation, audience development, and event management, and she has developed a deep understanding of both the not-for-profit and commercial theatre landscape of Toronto and Canada. Currently the Director of Marketing and Engagement for The Musical Stage Company, Victoria has worked in partnership with a variety of organizations including Mirvish Productions, The Art Gallery of Ontario, The National Arts Centre, Canadian Stage, Theatre Passe Muraille, Yonge Street Theatricals, and The Royal Conservatory. Victoria is a dedicated instructor who has also taught at Centennial College, Bravo Academy for the Performing Arts, and at Ryerson University as a guest lecturer.

Scheduling: Mondays, 6:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m., March 9–April 20, 2020

Cost: $365.57

Duration: 19.5 hours

This course can be taken as a standalone course or as part of The Chang School’s Course Series in Arts and Entertainment Administration. Suitable for arts managers, potential arts managers, and individual artists, this four-course program has been designed to equip you with entrepreneurial skills to support your creative ideas. Learn from seasoned professionals who work in the cultural industry and develop the confidence to build your business.
